Tutoring
Tutoring is a service that is offered Monday thru Friday evening’s and on Saturday’s by appointment. Tutoring is offered for non students as well as for our students. Tutoring is taught by "Highly Qualified" Tutor Professionals. Our tutor professionals are current classroom teachers who knows best practices for children and learning.
Advantage Tutoring is strongly suggested if your child is struggling in the areas of reading comprehension, writing, language arts, spelling, phonics, and math. We use researched based curriculum that offers rapid, optimal results. Children are first diagnostically tested to determine their level of achievement. Next, we assign a tutor professional who will specifically meet the needs of your child based upon the results of the diagnostic test.
Children are given assignments from our researched based curriculum that is in alignment with Michigan State Standards to fit individual students' needs, and they are not moved to the next level of achievement until each achievement level has been fully grasped. Our curriculum serves as preparation, intervention, as well as enrichment.
If your child is academically challenged, or if you just want to make sure your child stays ahead, tutoring is beneficial for you. Watch as your child’s learning improves rapidly, boosting their self confidence, and self esteem. Children are able to move at their own pace, and are not rushed. We want them to fully master their skill.
Power Session Workshops
Power Session Workshops are offered for groups of up to fifteen students. Power sessions are for students who are not necessarily struggling academically, and can actually grasp materials without being individually tutored. They just need some extra assistance in the areas math, writing, language arts, spelling, and phonics. Each session is an hour, and runs one night per week for ten weeks. Even though Power Session Workshops consists of larger groups, they are still not rushed. Our focus and attention is placed on each individual mastering and grasping concepts.
